I don't think it's a case of bad editing - no amount of editing can excuse the ludicrous dialogue and (completely unnatural) actions of the protagonists.

I guess the only real explanation would be that they went along and acted like that for some kind of 'neknominate' joke!
laugh

Oh and it's still the biggest pile of ste that's been on screen for a decade.

Ha you forget Neeson can't act!
You clearly haven't seen him in the Lego movie as 'good cop bad cop' astonishing performance.

I hope the movie is 15 minutes long, and consists of 14.5 minutes of intro and credits, and 30 seconds of Noomi Rapace flying her commandeered alien spacecraft into the nearest star."

I Hear the writer of the Green Lantern movie is now rewriting the sequel - what could possibly go wrong?

My advice? -

Ridley, stop fking about with intelligent, yet inexplicably homicidal albino space giants and put some scary fking Aliens in it, and NO, NO and thrice NO - not 'aliens' but Aliens, the big black shiny acid for blood Xenomorph Aliens - you know the type.

And some Space Marines.

NO I don't care what happened to Naomi and Fastbender and NO we don't care how it fits into the 'Alien Universe' - just make it scary and exciting.

Highbrow conceptual film exploring Mans place in the universe and our inherit need to explore boundaries of space and life itself? No, tried it, didn't work, everyone hated you for it - make a brilliant popcorn spitting, st-your-pants Scifi Action teethandbulletsfest.

Actually Ridley…Ridders…Ridster….ignore that advice. You're not JC. You don't sink ships, you build them! So do what you do best, make an insufferably dark, small, claustrophobic film instead. Whatever your budget, halve it. Write the script again, but this time….make it taut, tight, lean and very, very personal (my taste in films is the same as my taste in…well…you can guess). On that 'personal' note, this Noomie girl…could we give a st this time whether she lives or dies? In fact that goes for anyone in the film, now that the whole pointless existence of Charlize Theron is behind us.

This time…I really like the idea of wetting my pants.

I've watched a fancut of Prometheus last night, i.e. inclusion of deleted scenes, some minor editing and replacement of some scenes with rejected cuts. While most of the terrible dialogues and plotholes remained, it all made much more sense, and is much more of a geek film now, with many beautiful details woven into it. If you tend rather to like the original film than swore never to watch it again, I'd definitely recommend it.

Cheers - I've never heard of a fancut so was not sure if it was some form of official release.

I liked the original. The fact it asked questions, by accident or design, didn't bother me.

You can watch those cut scenes online, but I didn't and I wouldn't if I were you, since they make little sense without the rest of content
