I'm slightly worried that they are giving the game away here.

I really hope he knows what he's doing

dont think the game is being given away

however with only a couple of weeks left now, why feel the need to show a clip from the film as they land.......unnecessary

I'd be very surprised if the ships in a Ridley Scott big-budget film are CGI'd. He's on record as saying he ALWAYS prefers models over gaphics. He even makes full scale models of the ships landing gear etc.

IM I made that coment after looking at the link about when the ship lands,

Ive seen computer games with better more realistic ships. the CGI on this makes Phantom menace shiney st craft look fabulous.

Oh and they are showing far too much now. Seems like Ive seen teh whole film already.

It certainly looks CG to me. Meh, looks like Alien directed by JJ Abrams.

At some point they'll be a making of documentary etc etc and then we'll probably know but dont forget that you can also do partial model/partial effect shots.

Ie: Ship is a model, Afterburners and smoke etc is CGI.

We'll see.

I think he was making an effort to do a different one. Although I would definitely pay to go and see "Stringer Bell - IN SPACE".

I have several American friends who refused to believe Dr. House was English till I showed them clips of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" and also Blackadder. hehe

I fear from that clip - if it is genuine unedited footage - that this film has lost some of the slow burn of the original which made the bits where things did start to happen that more shocking.

They do seem to have entered the atmosphere and landed in very very quick time.

I was wondering about that too. I do hope it is just edited.

Otherwise it'll be Prometheus had landed, let's get out the ship, ooh look at that little creature with an evil face, oops it's gone down my throat, rah rah rah i'm an angry monster thing and i'm going to kill you all, ship gets mullered, someone else gets infected, more rah rah rah monsters, ooh look they want to go to earth to see what it's like, not on my watch, smash Prometheus into alien ship, the end. Or so we think?

It does seem strange how they appear manage to park right on top of the Alien settlement assuming this is an uncharted and undiscovered planet - unless there are some more specific directions they are working off than 4 planets arranged in a pattern.
