The first trailer for this remake/re-imagining of Spiderman has now been released. Personally, I think it is a pointless exercise and instead Sam Raimi should have been hired to make Spiderman 4 so I won't be spending any money to watch this when its released next year. Anyway, enough of the rant - trailer can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd...

Looks very good, in all fairness Spidy 1 was epic....2 not so much although still good...3? Raimi should be shot for, as a comment on that video says, that trailer alone was much better than 3.
Garfield is good and Webb directed one of my favorite film (500) days of summer, not too keen on the new suit though!

Kid looks totally miscast, makes me think it will be utter s t...also the Twilight comment on youtube...hmmm

Does it need rehashing so soon after the other were rehashed? How about a proper, dark, gothic Judge Dredd film?

And ironman.. That needs a new version. There is so much they could do without rehashing recent stuff. A rendezvous with Rama film would give me a chubby in my pants.

I think Batman is due a re-boot, but as part of the JLA. That doesn't bother me too much as it allows Nolan's Batman to remain un-sullied by countless lesser sequels. It is what happens with the comic books anyhow, multiple versions running all the time.

No it does not... and it wont get one anyway. After Captain America we will get "The Avengers" followed by Iron Man 3. I say leave that one alone, its a fun take on the Character.

T'was a pisstake, my young Padowan. It follows my comment that there is no need to redo spiderman so soon after the other spider mans were released.

SpeedBash said: Yay! Would be good to see Dredd done properly. But if this version has been long since complete and sitting on a shelf waiting for a release is that a good sign? Maybe there is still work being done after filming and/or they're being picky about release dates for some reason. Evil Dead remake could be interesting. I guess they're only talking about a one off for now and not getting overly ambitious about taking on the whole trilogy. Will be good to see Bruce Campbell pop up again whether it be Ash or not. The Spiderman trailer does not excite me at all. Starting from scratch again so soon after the most recent films just feels like they're starting again just because Toby Maguire is not continuing.

If you had the opportunity to purchase a chocolate bar or a boomberschnitzel, you'd happily reinvest in the familiar chocolate without tenfold the marketing spend for the boomberschnitzel which you aren't at all familiar with. People like me buy shoddy sequels for this reason

That doesn't feel very long to me either, but I suppose it's down to the accelerated recycling of culture and the onset of over-recent nostalgia that we get in all areas of culture now. The eighties nostalgia has been and gone, nineties nostalgia is well underway. As has been said elsewhere recently, even the Robocop remake feels unnecessarily soon, but the original was somehow 25 years ago

Looks quite good, but like has already been said, it's a bit too close to the last lot to start over again. Not sure I like the 'Mirror's Edge' style first person spinning spidey-cam bit. Hope they don't over use that in the film.

While I wasn't impressed by the orignal sequels I did enjoy the low budget features that appeared on Scifi - Struggling to remember to be honest. I think it was a trilogy meant to be by some of the people involved in the original first film.
