I just spotted this on IMDB and rushed he to start a 'Hollywood has just admitted "honesly, we're completely out of fresh ideas now, we're not even trying to hide it" thread.
Do I want to see a $200m film based on a battle between the US Navy and some Aliens starring Liam Neelson? Yeah, if I was in the mood for a brain-out special effects film, but the association with the game uttlerly baffles me - it's based on the classic school yard game 'battleships' that's only ever going to be a downside to it.
It would be like making an epic war movie set in the 1800's spanning the whole globe, spent $200m on it, Viggo Mortensen in the lead role as the daring general - then making the cannon balls star shaped and calling it Risk - based on the board game.

Operation: In the not too distant future the progress of the internet, the financial state of the health service and the advent of excellent home tuition courses will enable us all to operate on our loved ones at home in the comfort of our living rooms. People will literally lie down and let a family member ‘operate.’ Michael Smith of 41 Acacia Ave is ill and as a result his family (consisting of MILF wife, sext teen daughter and boffin type son) decide to operate. However; they lose their internet connection (because as BT explain ‘other electrical items disrupt wifi signals’) in the middle of trying to extricate what turns out to be a miniature nuclear bomb, which was hidden in a cheese and onion sandwich by Dr Mininuke after he realised Smith was in fact an agent of HASBRO and out to stop him. Will the family get the wifi to work? Can they disarm the mini nuke? What will become of Dr Mininuke?
