Mate is going tonight and needs a partner to share his Orange wednesday. Worth seeing?

Can't you just read the thread?

In short, everyone I know loved it and I think it's the best film I have seen in the last 10 years at the cinema.

I just watched the trailer, which I liked, then read some of the comments. One said: "This is one of those really bad trailers that show all key events in this movie! Thank God i watched this movie before the trailer!" That comment had been liked 10 times.

bks.
I did put in my OP -

"Don't watch any trailers as the completely spoil the film."

I try not to watch any trailers for any films I actually want to see.

I watched this last night . I don't think it deserves such a high rating on IMDB . I thought it was OK , I got it. The graphic violence was a bonus. Overall though not ground breaking or complex just very atmospheric. 6.5/10 is more realistic.

Very impressed with this, some tense scenes.

Can't say any of the trailers I had seen spoiled anything.

You haven't watched the Official Trailer that comes up on YouTube as the top result then! It shows EVERY major event in the film - right from start to finish.

You must have just seen 30 second TV trailers?

I'll go against the grain here and say i would have waited to see it on DVD. It had a few good bits around the robbery but the rest... well, i'll get me coat

I saw that before seeing the film, doesn't really spoil anything.

I saw the trailer after seeing the film and felt that it would have ruined the whole film. It's got all the spoilers in it. My general rule when going to see a film is to not watch a trailer or even read about it.

Right just got back.

Great characters that are superbly cast, who help create a beautiful style of tension. The film is marked by moments of necessary violence and emotion is stoked by a sweet soundtrack.

A Very good film.

Walk in expecting a die hard style action film and you'll give it 20 and walk out (as a few people did tonight).

Even with a couple of moments of averted eyes, the wife enjoyed it.

The only awkward moment for me was in car chase scene - how could he manage to shift gears going backwards? You can clearly hear him shifting twice in the Mustang. Maybe 300bhp can explain this miracle smile
Otherwise great film, if not among the greatest.

Also, can anybody please explain why did he leave the girl after all?

Yes. Very nice to look at and worth seeing ahead of the usual dross, but was somewhat like watching somebody play GTA7 not very well, or Mulholland Drive without the charm or intrigue. Will have to watch it again to check.

I don't think he did - he just hadn't got back yet. That was the whole reason for leaving the money - so he could keep the girl?

Yep, I clocked the shifting gears in reverse bit as well.

9 out 10 for me btw, best film I've seen this year.

He had to leave because he'd be constantly looking over his shoulder because of all the people he killed and if he went back he'd just be putting her in danger again.

Also the Mafia dude said that the girl was safe, he was not going to touch her, presumably if they stayed together, there was always a danger should be "collateral damage" or the mafia dude would change his mind?

But everyone that knew about the links was killed? The only thing linking him back to it all was the money.

I thought he left the money so that he could get Irene and be clean?

I guess open endings leave it up to our own interpretation!
