Saw Bill Bailey on tour a couple of weeks back.......NMTB cropped up in conversation. He said he quit as he'd started to find it demeaning. Not sure if he was serious, but there didn't seem to be much of punch line to follow.
If your talking about the Pompey gig he didn't seem to be joking when he said it
Nope, we saw him in The Hexagon, Reading (or "the semi-subterranean pod of unfulfilled dreams" to quote the man himself) but the same applies.
In fact, the butt of the joke seemed to be the program itself.....
"I decided to give it up because there I was, whistling the intro of a Britney Spears song to some dopey halfwit I'd never heard of, and who, in turn, had never heard of Britney Spears and I thought to myself.......I thought......Bill, you're better than this, after all, you've got Grade 6 clarinet"
Hardly a sound endorsement of Buzzcocks laugh

He seemed to take offence at the mention of his hair earlier on and went into a sulk.
Apparently Rizzle Kicks were getting everything badly wrong, and had to redo their links umpteen times. Of course, this was all edited out, which made Huey just look like an arse, when he was actually pissed off at them for being crap.

I've not watched this for ages, but have some recent ones and quite enjoyed it again.

Probably I just got bored with it as it's very formulaic, but it's still very funny at times.

Will have to give this a look, rhod can be funny at times.

I think its a shame that amstell is gone makes you realized how Phil and noel are just not that funny, phil has spent the whole of the show telling fat joke's about himself for years and noel is like that kid a school that tries to say random things to get a laugh which gets pretty old when you realize that he has nothing else to add.

I caught it last night on iPlayer. It was bloody funny and gave me several LOL moments. Rhod Gilbert is completely different to both Mark Lamarr and Simon Amstell, but I think he brings something new to it. I really enjoyed it.

Lamarr and Amstell could both carry the rest of the format. Since they left it hasn't been half as good.

Very disappointed. It was even more chaotic than usual without a lot of the humour.

The identity parade (my fave bit) was poor - but I like Rhod and hope he grows into it, we were spoilt with Lam and Amst who were superbly cutting.
