About 4 weeks ago my brother told me that Angelos Epithemiou (Dan Renton Skinner) of Shooting Stars fame had mentioned on Twitter that you could apply for free tickets to the filming of his new show via a website that basically fills studio audiences.

I applied for 6 (the maximum number) not expecting to get them. The following day, I got an email confirming 6 tickets in my name - Well chuffed!

Two or three days later I was in the car with the wife when I got a call. The guy explained he was from the production company of Angelos's show. He asked if any of our party were couples, and explained they were looking for a bloke to set up his missus for a bit of a prank. Unfortunately my wife could hear him, so I gave him my mate's name and number and let my mate know.

They phoned him the next day and said they were shortlisting a few people to have Angelos round at their house to do some filming, take something of value and then basically offer the chosen woman money on the show to smash it up.

Long story short, they ended up choosing him. Angelos (and Bob Mortimer!) came round to his house in the week, did some filming and took some photos. They got an exact replica of his OH's eternity ring as a prop.

We got to the studio last night and had to get her sat in a very specific seat in order for him to be able to pick her out. He got her out of the audience and they showed a picture of the house, and Angelos having a bath in their bathroom hehe before showing her 'her' ring and offering money to smash it up.

The whole show was absolutely hilarious, and was topped off by us being invited into the green room for complimentary drinks with (amongst others) Bob Mortimer, Dan Renton Skinner and Liz McClarnon (guest on the show). We felt a bit out of place at first but they were all really friendly and accommodating, especially the production team, and appreciated my mate helping them out.

Absolutely brilliant night, and all for the small price of filling in a few details online. smile

The show is on Channel 4 on the 28th at 10:30pm. Won't be everyone's cup of tea but if you like Shooting Stars/Angelos you'll love it.

She's nothing special in real life frown

@jvl - A bit of both really mate, there are a couple of sketches that were brilliant (look out for the Bollywood one), and an interview with Krishnan Guru-Murthy but most of it was just "Mucking about". wink
