guys i havn't watched it yet, am going on Friday when im back up visiting pals, For the people who have watched it are there any 'extra' scenes after the credits like the past Marvel films??

Cheers

Gaz
Yes, but it is Immediately *before* the "white on black" credits roll this time.

And you'll need to be up on your Marvel stuff to get it.

As for Agent Coulson, I will really miss him. There is a great "extra" on (I think) the Thor DVD devoted to him, set in a convenience store. Brilliant. But his death is what pulls the team together, and what undoes all Loki's work on the heli carrier trying to undo them. Plus it is was a neat nod to Thunderbird fro Giant Sized X Men #1, as was the collapse of the Shiled HQ to the collapse of Sunnydale at the end of BTVS S7.

Oh deat. I seem to have just disclosed myself as a complete anorak
I read an interview that clark gregg (phil) did and he explained how he ended up such a major part of the franchise, he got on very well with Robert Downey Jr and was just supposed to be 'Shield agent' in the first Iron Man film, he was given larger and larger parts. Rather interesting how it all panned out, just a shame that he had to die, I need to give the 2 shorts a watch 1 being him going from his scene in Iron Man 2 where he mentions mexico to Thor which is set in Mexico and the other being something to do with the Hulk (extra on the edward norton hulk dvd perhaps?).

There was one post initial credits and pre B&W credits. We waited until the end of the B&W credits and nothing came after them.

Majorly pissed off! Went to vue and got the 3D tickets as I really wanted to watch this film in 3D event though the time was inconvenient for me and ridiculous price too.

So anyway sat down and in the first 10 mins I didn't notice any 3D material and the quality was absolutely ste, so turns out the s fked up big time and showed the 2d version instead. At the end there was a massive mob of pissed off people demanding a answer, anyway they gave us free tickets but still I would have liked to see this film in 3D!

Well I've now seen it in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D, and the normal 3D was a bit weak.

The IMAX though, was unbelievable. The final scene with the dudes on space bikes flying towards you, incredible stuff. Well worth it.

Interesting too, that when you see Robert DJ in real life, with his family etc, he pretty much dresses just like Stark. And he acts like him too, or should I say, RDJ has made the Stark character like himself.

Trying to figure out my favourite bits, very hard. Aside from the Hulk/Loki and Hulk/Thor interactions already mentioned, it has to be the line from Stark when Coulson arrives at Stark towers and Pepper starts calling him Phil.

"Phil? Why are you calling him Phil?

His first name's Agent!"

hehe

That's a great line. It's a brilliant line that is funny because it's unexpected.

WHICH MAKES IT A SPOILER, YOU TWIT!

In the first Iron man film Pepper and Phil build a relationship and im guessing that during the everyday running of the company Pepper has business dealings with Phil on a weekly basis, also did anyone else think that Banner and Stark got on really well from the off, was their some pre existing relationship between them? Banner goes with Stark at the end of the film. Also did anyone else think that Kevin was a bit irritating?

IMAX last night. Incredible. Every time I go see a movie in IMAX I can't go back to a normal cinema for ages. It's just that good.

This film is friggin awesome

Loved the movie totally and will be returning to see it on the big screen but for me one of the stand out moments was slightly more sutble than the hinted comedy bits....

Obviously Agent Coulson's death and the way it was handled was superb. When Fury came over the radio on the carrier to anounce that Coulson was down was actually really sad, especially seeing each of the characters listening in to the anouncement "Medical team are already here... they have called it" frown

Out of all of it though I simply loved Tony Stark's line to Loki...

After telling Loki how he had pissed off the Avengers he returns to the Top of Stark tower in the Mk7 armour and hovers right in front of Loki....

"You managed to ps off someone else too.... his name was Phil"
(cue Loki getting thrown across the room from two blasts in the chest from Tony's hand pulsers)

I loved that as it was the first time Tony had used Coulsen's first name himself and kinda showed that Phil did matter to all of them, despite Tony always winding Coulson up. That was a proper "hell yeah bh!" moment laugh (Phil would have been proud)

Thank you Joss Wheedon, only you can have the guts to kill a main character everyone loves and still make it mean something to a movie.

This can't possibly be considered a spoiler as it was a case of 'when' not 'if', but am I the only one who is starting to find Stan Lee's cameos in these films rather tedious now?
Certainly not me, I love it. Loved it spotting Hitch, love it spotting Lee or Ferigno or any other cameo. It's what makes the knowledge specialbiggrin
Was Ferrigno in this one? I didn't spot him.

Went and watched it last night in 3D. Great film, certainly one of the best in the superhero films so far, as good as The Dark Knight I'd say.

I felt the 3D added nothing to the film whatsoever, and it would be just as good in 2D. IMAX would be better as its a far larger screen, but the 3D effects did absolutely nothing to the film.

Some great humour as well. I knew it would be good as the Sunday Times critic gave it 4 stars, and he normally hates this genre of film.

Yes, I totally agree. I felt exactly the same whilst watching it in 3D. In fact I found it intrusive and distracting.
It's good in a way because it means it will be worth owning on Blu-Ray (unlike Avatar).

Watched this in IMAX 3D yesterday and what can I say except that it was utterly, utterly brilliant. The witty dialouge was pure Wheedon (there was a line of Loki's that could have easily come out of Buffy's mouth), and they managed to balance the time on the various characters to perfection IMO.

I can't say I remember the last time I did this but I think I'm going to have to go see it again!

Agree with the comments regarding 3d. Adds nothing, next time I'll see the 2d version. Forget the "superhero movie" qualification, that was one superb movie smile

Wish we had imax nearby...

I have seen 3D twice. From previous movies that I've seen both 2D and 3D, the 3D always had more depth to the picture. Also, some scenes like the Leviathan type aliens coming over head had real depth to it for sure. I will try and get to see it in 2D to compare, but can't imagine it coming through as well as that.

This is but one example.
