Hmm, a pain in the arse under whose terms? The film makers? Sounds like he's an actor who simply doesn't take any st.

Don't see why Hawkeye and Black Widow are in this. I still have faith it will be OK though.

me too. Captain America is easily the most subtle of this new set IMO...a bit like the first Spiderman film (Raimi one) its good partly because its not actually THAT important that they're superpowered.and Thor was just great fun...and Hemsworth was great.

I had heard he was a pain in the arse, but had realised he was quite that bad....
A shame really as I have enjoyed him in most of his films (haven't watched the IJ remake on principal)
Sorry for the O/T but the Italian Job remake is actually a decent enough film as long as you keep it completely seperate in your head from the original.A shame really as I have enjoyed him in most of his films (haven't watched the IJ remake on principal)

Looks SO good! The norton Italian job film was dire. Norton appears absoloutely disinterested in it, delivering his lines in a monotone. He may as well have been checking his watch.
When the studios get the hump with you you will struggle to find work again. Norton has done himself no favours since he refused to promote the incredible hulk. Same thing happened to Gene Hackman...when did you last see him in a film
The Avengers should be great. Joss Whedon writes for comics and has a handle on the characters. Comic geeks like me have wanted to see something like this on screen for years but the special fx couldn't live with an artists pencils until recently.
The pitfall is to keep it on an edge between light and dark.

I'm not too sure about this one, 2 hours is rarely enough time to do one character justice, let alone a whole heap of them. This may end up being too muddled like Spiderman 3 which also tried to cram in too many plotlines\characters and ended up a muddled mess.
I am also not convinced that Loki is a strong enough threat to face off against all of the Avengers, as mentioned previously, Thor managed to beat him and his Ice army on his own and I found his machinations and evil agenda a bit weak in that film. Loki being a bit handy with illusions and yelling a lot didn't really do it for me. They should have introduced a new character with the ability to truely notch up the threat level to one worthy of squaring off against the Avengers.

usually i would agree but they are not introducing any new characters. so there will be no need for the story telling of how they become heroes. so should just flow on from each individual film. garrykiller said:

I guess so but there are still some strong characters in their, both from an actor point of view and Marvel characters so I am interested to see how they will balance out the character\team dynamics and ensuring that each is given enough time to breatha\develop so to speak.

i think that iron man will dominate the movie they clearly favour his character anyway.Still less than convinced by Loki to be honest, for me he was the weakest link the in the Thor Movie.

He is supposed to be a GOD! i think this is an excellent story plot...kinda follows how they shoe-horned Thor into Marvel in the first place....and gives some meaning to the struggle. If it isnt a god then you end up with the 'superman problem'totally agree Spidey 3 risk though. I just hope that as Halb says they just let the story flow and not try and subplot all the leads. Wheedon is in control and I have a LOT of faith in that man.

What did he do? He seems to have retired at not an unusual age for an actor.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_hackman#Retireme...
