ice road truckers deadliest roads
Discussion
Watched it last night. Properly hairy roads and driving, but all undermined by didn't-actually-happen inter-cut shots. You can tell that a TV producer has sent another camera crew and production assistants up to take more dramatic shots without 'our heroes' and their trucks actually being anywhere near.
I missed the credits - does it have one of those "some scenes may have been dramatised" disclaimers slapped on it?

I saw the one last week. It was much better than I'd expected. I find the false DANGER on programmes like that irritating, but some of the situations looked genuinely quite dodgy.
I've ridden in a Tricycle (motorbike sidecar) and Jeepney through Manilla, which was interesting, and driven around cities in Argentina, which was quite stressful at times because the drivers behave so differently to those in the UK, but India looks to be a few levels worse!

Anyone know if this is repeated at all, I think most of those roads qualify for the 'I'd rather wait until I can afford to travel by helicopter / plan'.
You can catch it Here on Demand 5If [insert driver name] does not make the next corner he will plunge to an icy death....
[insert driver name] has made it round the corner safely and lives to fight another day.
Coming up, let's see how [insert driver name] tackles this narrow uphill pass, this could be the last journey he makes if he slides off course....

And so on...

gives a real idea just how bad driving is out there in places like india and egypt were common sense and the value of life seem to be lacking.

Slightly off topic, but regarding the terrible driving in places like Egypt etc was speaking to someone who reckoned that they drive like idiots because they firmly believe that if it's in gods plans for them to die that day then they will and if it isn't then they won't , regardless of how they drive. Not sure how true it is but I could definitely believe it as they seem to be severely lacking in common sense when it comes to driving.
