I thought perhaps I'd missed something; It would appear I've read the books a little too much... hehe

It isn't, that's the Luxembourg premier, the world premier is at the Albert Hall om 23/10/12.

Its on general release over here on the 26th so we will see it first!

Pedant! wink

We sometimes have to wait a long time for releases as they're usually subtitled in French & Dutch too, so on this occasion, the fact that it's only a few days after general release is a pleasant change. Oh, and someone else is paying for 2 of us to go. smile

(OK, it's only €8/ea. to go anyway, but still... )

Well yes I am!

But I honestly thought you meant it was to be in Luxembourg!

Being held in London makes much more sense.biggrin

You do realise it might be a pan-and-scan version since Luxembourg probably doesn't have room for a widescreen cinema.

My only concern is they add too much humour. Ive enjoyed the last to because they cut out most of the Brosnan type silliness.

Humour always has a place in Bond as long as its the right kind. Dry and cutting rather than camp and silly.

I think they got the humour just right, certainly not camp and silly. The whole film felt very much a pared back James Bond, mostly believable. Even the 'sexiness' seemed to be trimmed back to allow you to concentrate on Bond etc. Daniel Craig is now probably my favourite Bond.

The hype for Skyfall and the 50th anniversary stuff going round has all the makings of a Oscar "campaign" to me.
