LOL and the series itself was actually quite dark.An updated version would be much better than something like V.

It was originally aired at tea time back in 1969, I was 7, but then moved to a late night slot. Even watching it now, the plots are very serious and involve everything from extra-marital affairs to drugs.

The one that had Straker trying to kill Commander Paul Foster in order to test his allegiance had me in tears when I was little. I was a sensitive soul.

I 'inherited' one of them from big bro. Along with Joe 90's ship.

Love that comparison chart, there is another out there which is slightly different, has the ship from Lexx on it?

Thanks for the link Croyde, I'll check out the vids at home (youtube is filtered in the office).

As for the comparison chart, I think it's brilliant and confirms why the Super Star Destroyer is my favourite. smile

I figured out why the new 'V' failed, I'm watching the old one again at the moment, the new one, they're completely missed the overall point of the original, the occupation by a hostile force. The don't actually know what the fk the new one's supposed to be about.

The Star Wars ships are pretty hard to beat, especially the Star Destroyers and 'The Avenger' super star destroyer.

I would give a notable mention to the shadow ships from Babylon 5

Hardly surprising since the influence of Aliens ran the whole way through.
