Gotta be the Falcon, since it's also piloted by the coolest space-pirate Han... I'm quite partial to this on the Imperial side too:

I love all the original trilogy ships as they look realistic- i.e. used and quite often a bit battered. I wore out the start and end of my VHS copy of Return of the Jedi as a child watching the shuttle and battle for the Death Star over and over...

I actually have a Haynes manual for the Falcon!

Oh by the way, 70s/80s sci fi set in space, they had these big space ships one of which was a garden, cant remember any more than that, any ideas?

if that space 1999 ship hadnt come out we'd never have had the millenium falcon as we know it.

The one gaping hole in the Falcon's portfolio is that it's descibed in Ep IV as a freighter, albeit a fast one...
So how the feck does a cargo vessel with little more than defensive weapons end up leading the attack on the Death Star II in Ep VI?
Bit like the inspirational Dambusters using a DC3 to attack the dams.
