Argument? A different point of view is not a cause for an argument IMO. (not aimed at you btw, more generally that people get so wound up on forums. )

I had forgotten Mansell. Good example. Do you think that was because he was an individual as opposed to a team (McLaren). Or because he has a personaility that (for whatver reason) Ron doesn't?

On a related note, do people support drivers/riders more easily than a team?

I think it was because Williams F1 were already loved by the British partly because they were successfully and partly because of Sir Frank's accident, put that together with our Nige' the eternal trier and it was a combination which grabbed the public's imagination.

I find it easier to support the drivers than the teams. I find the teams to be a bit faceless whereas the drivers all have personalities and I guess I can identify with them.

to me the teams are just a business whereas someone like Jensen, have seen him develop accross a number of teams and progress.

Im to young for most of Mansell mania, I was under 10 at the time! I remember him in the 90s but in the 80s was too young to really understand it all
