Well, firstly both of the redneck hick "eyecandy" are grim IMO.

Both shows are very good though, enjoy seeing all the firepower and interesting guns, but the last episode of SOGs made me remember just what a bunch of all american rednecks these people are.

"this guy shoots sharks with arrows...cool!!" I think that's pretty disgusting, so he goes out and just shoots sharks for no other reason than to boast about it, I cant imagine they use the meat or anything so it's pointless killing.

Im not some GreenPeace activist, and have no problem with hunting where it's for food, or culling purposes, but seeing this big redneck grinning about how he shoots sharks just annoyed me, what an arse, maybe he should face the sharks in their own territory rather than standing on a boat and shooting them.

The redneck bint seemed to hero worship the guy because he's done that, so outside of the obvious skills Red Jacket have producing guns, they are such swamp people you wouldnt want to know them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowfishing

Seems that fishing with a bow and arrow is about as old as time itself and a recognised sport.

I haven't seen the programme yet, so don't know the details, but what's the difference between shooting a deer with a rifle to mount it on the wall or shooting a shark with a bow and arrow for the sake of it?

Ultimately they both have the same end result for nothing more than one person's pleasure.

I agree, and dont like the idea of hunting any animal for pure sport. If there is a byproduct that the hunted animal is used for food, or it's a cull to maintain a species, then I havent got any issue with it.

The redneck view is if it's an animal, I have the right to kill it, just because. That shows a real lack of any intelligence or concern for an animal.

I looked up Mako sharks and they are on the endagered list, due to excessive fishing and hunting, so why this guy is so proud of himself for shooting these sharks is beyond me.

Older now, the 1st season is about a year and a half old so 17-18 at least. Perfectly fine with me biggrin

Watched the latest Sons of Guns last night,

Few things:

AK sniper, I'm sure there's a whole range of Semi-auto sniper rifles available and I recall from some McNab book or other the main draw-back with AK's is the big banana magazine they use makes them unsuitable for shooting from the usual sniper prone position? But I guess if you're a 'private security contractor' shooting at people who "look at you funny" from the roof of your GMC Suburban in Iraq I'm sure it's less of an issue. Still thought it was cool,

The Bow Hunter just came across as a total tool - if nothing else I would have kept and eye on his for the Douche beard/tash combo thing.

Will's daughter has been comfort eating between series.

I fear the show may have a 'love interest angle this season' episode 1 and she's having bother with her BF, I'm sure no one cares but She's married to Kris the Mohawk sporting kid who calls people 'Sir' a lot now

I enjoy this, and American Guns but sometimes, it's a real look through your fingers TV, still their country/state, their rules.

We started watching it last year when i spent my 40th in New York.

Loved it , also i find Wills daughter rather fetching , especially when firing some mental bullet sprayer.

Interesting accent though.

Don't watch the second series then - she has gone noticeably downhill.
