P-Jay said: I’m pretty sure there’s a well replied thread somewhere on PH from a Gun enthusiast from the US somewhere that explains suppressors pretty well. I am pretty sure you'll find a UK resident that will do that! In addition to containing and slowly releasing the gas pressure associated with muzzle blast or reducing pressure through the use of coolant mediums, advanced suppressor designs attempt to modify the properties of the sound waves generated by the muzzle blast

I've had a go with one of the 'Hushpower' shotguns with a suppressor and it works astonishingly well. The biggest advantage is that the sound doesn't carry anywhere near as far so you don't scare the neighbours/rabbits.
This program sounds interesting - might have to give it a watch.

It's genuinely very entertaining, they do some very cool upgrades and conversions.

a .45 can be made to sound like a pellet rifle with a proper suppressor and low charge ammunition, the main thing is keeping the bullet just below supersonic (about 1000fps) so there isn't a sonic boom when the bullet leaves the barrel.

I love this series. Its just a shame that we are so far behind in the UK. Season 4 has just finished in the US and we are only part way through season 2. All I can say is there are some fantastic builds still to be seen over here.

American Guns is also pretty good and not just because the owners daughter is hot, seriously hot!
I watched one of the best episodes of Sons of Guns the other day, it was the one where Will and Steph go to the war musuem and meet a WW2 vet who received the Medal of Honour. 'Woody Williams' still had his WW2 issue flame thrower and wanted SoG to refurb it and they end up getting it working and then let him go set fire to a mock bunker later on.
Being an ex Marine Will was utterly made up to meet and work with one of the few people alive to have received the Medal, was a good show.

That flame thrower was awesome! You've got to love a state that'll allow someone to have that legally

That was awesome! I'd love to know how much that actually cost, considering it was swapped for a custom Harley I'm guessing not cheap. That business seems to be worth a hell of a lot of money! He bid the guy with the 2 old Colt's half a million like it was nothing. I know he'd get a good return if they were genuine but you need to have some decent money around to be able to hold the stock.

Had missed this thread before, had been watching American Guns for a while and then the other weekend caught an all day run of sons of guns. Best way to waste an afternoon! Two of the best series on TV!

Id rather tap blonde from AG than the brunette from SoG
Ive only seen 1 episode from each but AG seems to be a better programme or the teams alot less over excitable

Then I realised - she is part giraffe (she has a ridiculously long neck).
