That. Looks. Awesome.

I can't remember the name of the classic track playing, but it fits.

"Big Bopper to March Hare we're still in the game." driving Great trailer.

Does Mel have a cameo, does anybody know?

Appears not. Bloke who played Toecutter is in it though.

He's the arch baddie, by the look of it. He's got a mask on though.

No Mel cameo, I should know as I spent 6 months in Namibia working on it back in mid 2012 and then 2 months re shoots in Sydney late 2013.

I recognized him from the eyes. Can't believe the original is this old though.

In reality it was a steel frame with a roots blower empty shell. It wasn't a real supercharged car :-(
It was a Weiand.
Do your research ;-)

It was a hollowed out blower. No insides. For show.

It wasn't holliwed out, it just wasn't connected to the engine. It was, nevertheless a Weiand, not a "roots"(sic) as you stated.

It was driven by an electric motor when seen spinning - when you first see it with the bonnet up "Kick it in the guts, Barry" there's a bucket hiding the motor.

Research on Mad Max is something I don't need to do any more of, ta wink

I'm going to have to be a little bit pedantic here.

The blower was a Weiand as you state and they are the manufacturer.

The Weiand is a Roots "type" blower as in the design of the rotors and named after the Roots brothers, who invented it.

This is opposed to a Lysholm type blower like the Whipple or Kenne Bell which are actual twin screw compressors and the rotors compress the air along their length, not just move it from above to below the case.

I have one of each biggrin

Ultra-pedant to correct you both.

It's a Weiand roots supercharger.

However it was indeed an empty casing, the carb sat inside the casting. The pulley was driven by electric motor.

Final trailer:

So, it looks like the Toecutter has his harem stolen and a chase ensues. I think that's all the plot we need.
