I'm not saying it should be Mel Gibson as Max, but calling it Mad Max 4, then having Max played by a different and much younger guy, is odd.
Change the name to Mad Tarquin....

I was under the impression it was going to be set between mad max 1 and 2, which would explain the interceptor and younger actor.

That would make more sense. And why not change the actor? Gibson is getting on now, and other franchises have gotten away with it (Sort of) I forget how many actors have played Batman for crying out loud, just as an example.

I am a fan of the original 1 & 2. Thunderdome was for the kids... But I hope they get someone to do a descent score for it, the corney music score of number 1 got on my wick and spoiled it a bit.

Another vehicle has been spotted...

I was hoping the cars would be like the ones we saw in The Road Warrior, but it looks like were getting a few of the over the top buggys of the third film too.

First photo of Tom Hardy as Max:

By all accounts, this is showing promise.

If they make it a dark adult film like the first 2, than it could be excellent. But they were low budget indy films. I fear that this one may be dumbed down for masses and probably a 15, so as to make as much money as possible.

According to imdb, it's the same director as the first two films, charlise theron has shaved her head, there are two more films to come after it, and the cars all look awesome!

That just leaves the story.

I hope they keep the noise of that thing in the movie and not dub over with something else, that sounds great!

The thing with the first one though was it was focused on the cars, they looked and sounded great. Its just a shame that due to the low budget and the decade in which it was made it comes across quite cheesy. (IMO) I wouldn't say it was ste, it just wasn't what it could have been.

The second was brilliant, I agree; clearly had more money spent on it and it showed.

The third wasn't so great IMO, seemed to stretch the theme a bit too far and was aimed at a mass market, which seemed to water it down. I remember enjoying it as a kid when I originally saw them all but even then felt that it wasn't a patch on the first two.

Yeah the cars are good in the first but I need more. I don't care that it looks really low budgets. The script is poor and all that nightrider and toe cutter ste pissed me off when I was young tried again a few years ago and turned it off after about 20minutes

as for 3 I like the story with the kids and bartertown etc etc( I am on record here saying all films with kids in are st. This is one of a handful that I can tolerate)

The only crap bit in 3 is whotsherface who did the theme tune. The way the kids had made up their own folklaw etc etc gives it some character.

Your interpretation and appreciation of what is and isn't a good film. Not saying you are wrong as it's personal opinion.......

.....But it's a weird opinion nonetheless hehe

The action is based a short time after the last installment, 'Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome', according to reports

The official synopsis reads: “Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.

Seem like I was wrong there
