Pacific Rim is the film that Transformers should have been

Be that as it may, it didn't purport to be. smile
Transformers should have been about giant robots punching eachother, but instead we got lots of low angle shots of people getting out of cars, fight scenes where you couldn't work out what the hell was going on, product placement and racism.

Giant robots being ultra-violent with each other in fights where you can follow the action...is that so hard?

Pacific Rim was terrible. I knew it wasn't going deep and meaningful but it failed to meet the low standard I had expected from it. I mean you shouldn't be able to fail to with a giant robots fight giant monsters but this somehow managed it.
Got to agree, although with the cast and director involved my expectations were relatively high. The robot/alien fights were enjoyable enough and well done, the rest was an abomination. Horrendous dialogue, dreadful acting and a crappy plot.

Who was a good actor in Pacific Rim? A Geordie guy from Byker Grove? A guy from Eastenders or a guy from The Unit?

It had one good actor, Idris Elba and even he couldn't act enough for an entire cast

Same just watched it and thought it was the best film I've seen in years for pure entertainment value. Brilliant stunts, really wierd and wonderful characters, great action and best of all no overusage of CGI or fake emotions that seem to litter a lot of modern films. I'm surprised at all the people complaining about a lack of deep and meaningful plot, the film is called Mad Max Fury Road what were you expecting?

This is not a film to watch on a tablet or PCs screen, you need to go big and through the home cinema as well. This will be my new go to film to show to friends.

I think many may have confused "plot" with "exposition". A lot of stuff was going on, it just wasn't spelled out for people who are too busy texting to pay attention.

This was released today on iTunes in the USA. It is therefore available to "rent" from your local sea based video service.

I've just finished watching it and I enjoyed it even more than at the cinema. It actually translates quite well tot he smaller screen and I picked up quite a few bits I missed on the first viewing.

Don't know if this will be up long but interesting to me anyway fury road in black and white

George Miller has said that the best version of his film is in black and white, with no dialogue. BLACK & CHROME is an attempt to realize Miller’s alternate vision. The cinematography, the editing, the sound design, and the score, are now represented in a completely new experience.

It was disappointing, and Idris Elba was awful. Anyone who thinks he'd make a good James Bond should watch this.

Shame it was actually interesting like watching a high tech silent movie.

If it's just a colour switch to Black and White I don't mind running the movie through a filter and re-uploading somewhere.

The audio was removed for copyright purposes but only during the speaking parts from what I have found reading up on this version.
Did those that watched it find the lack of dialogue better (I don't remember there being that much in the first place to be honest!).

It looked great. But it was as you say the movie with a b&w filter and all dialogue removed.
That made the talking scenes weird as although it's not an exposition heavy film it needs the dialogue or a replacement scene.
