Good to see that even in the event of global apocalypse, a man can still hire a white van.

so with the new images, could this be the coolest car/bike based film ever?

Is that a good or bad sign.

no reboot, direct continuation from MadMax-beyond thunderdome.

Had a number of reshoots in 2013 (don't know why) so I presume they are still editing.

I see a fuel tanker in that picture above, just like the one in Mad Max 2.

So, a reboot then. Take a few 'favourite bits' from the successful films of the past, make up a lame plot to hang them on, basically recycle into a 'new' film.

Still yawn.

Happy to be proved wrong, but not hopeful...

there is a tanker in that picture but this is definitely MM4 not a reboot, original director George miller and new story.

Actually, you could say that about "Tron: Legacy" and yet that really worked for me. It was enough of a sequel to keep oldies like me happy, yet enough of a retelling that the younger generation could enjoy it without needing to have seen the original.

Something has always puzzled me about Mad Max style post apocalyptic dramas:

Why do so many people decide to wear gimp suits?

If there is some global armageddon I would not expect the surviving population to instinctively think that what they need is a rubber gimp mask.

May be one of the few options for entertainment around Broken Hill if you aren't into digging holes or doing things with sheep. Not the best climate for dressing in rubber or leather though!

As for global Armageddon, I'm not sure you'd necessarily notice the difference...
