Caught half the advert for this before watching it. Very good but WTF! Even more WTF than Utopia has been.

Well that was......different.

Quite like the idea of that type of Justice system though. Does that make me a sadist hehe

Well for the first 40 minutes I was thinking: 'a good idea but needs a bigger budget to look real - they must have filmed it on an exMOD estate and it shows'

Then the penny drops and 'oh makes sense now'!

Jem was a bit Jessica Hyde one woman army, probably just coincidence as they would have been filmed around the same time, separately.

not quite as eerie as ep1 but still a little messed up as normal for brooker. quite liked it, nice little twist.

presumably she had actually done it tho, and was not just a random?

not sure about the casting choice of the next epiosde, putting that wker from the BT infinity adverts in a lead role. i hate his stupid face. hopefully i can look past that.

I don't think there's supposed to be any question that she did it. It's about a punishment that fits the crime. Give the public what the want when a Mira Hindley or Rose West is sentenced and everyone says "prison is too good for them".

Yeah youre right I left my brain behind with that. Whilst you might think that someone subhuman enough to do something like deserves everything they get, the eye for an eye thing does not really fit and the punishment ends up as bad as the crime. Coupled with the baying crowd mob mentality you can easily observe from groups such as the big brother audience. Very good episode.

I liked how just when it started to feel safe and a hint of normal with the explanation, then the reality of that situation quickly made it so much worse again, and more than you could think to start with

How effective is any punishment when it is forgotten by the end of the day?.

Stick someone in prison for 10 years, then wipe their memory upon release and they won't have "done" any time...or learnt any lessons.

Making someone suffer for the enjoyment/pleasure of others is criminal in itself.

I still thought it was a good show. smile

I think that is exactly the point of the drama. All wrapped up in a Running Man / Big Brother parody.

But at the end of every single day she realises what she did in a profound way, and that she has been repeating that cycle every day since, and will continue to do so.... quite some punishment!

Every day she is reliving what she did.

The rest of your life being terrified, running for you life, realising what a terrible crime you commuted, then screaming in pain as your memory is wiped.
Seems far worse than the daily boredom of a prison cell.
