I found it very bizarre and it wouldn't surprise me if there were lots of complaints.

My only complaint was about the bit where everyone was in the bar waiting for him to do it. I don't believe people would act like that in that situation.

Unfortunately, if you look at the tabloid press, youtube comments and a lot of facebook 'culture' I think a lot would.
In today's world...not many would translate that as an attack on Britain. The position of PM of the UK is what is being attacked and ridiculed worldwide. Unfortunately, people only want to see the gossip in the whole scenario.

Brilliant TV. Time to bring out more British TV like this. Makes people ask questions about themselves!

I hope they slaughtered and put it on a spit roast after.
Imagine the premium you could charge for a hog roast "Personally (Royally) stuffed by the PM".

Just a small plot hole... the security services would *just possibly* have checked 'that' fingerprint a little more thoroughly before assuming its origin, methinks. rolleyes
Plus the chap was an artist, so the finger would be a scraggy battered hairy "mans" finger rather than a dainty "never done a days hard work in her life" finger.

And the bit about the princess being released 30 minutes before the "act" which was going on for over an hour. I'm sure the message would have got to them long before 90 minutes.

I caught a few minutes near the end. It captured my interest enough to put it on series link and to get the whole of last nights episode recorded.

Can someone summarise the plot in a spoiler tag for those of us who missed it?

PM sent kidnap video of popular Princess. She is in terror and stating she will be executed if the PM isn't put on national tv shagging a pig by 4pm the same day.
Pig gets shagged, PM becomes more popular - wife hates him. The End

A bit unsellting, but TBH I found the plot a bit shallow and limited, certainly not very realistic IMO.

My 16 year old was watching it too, i think it needed to be a bit later than 9.00 even though that is the watershed. He didnt rate the plot for depth or realism either.

Lastnights episode was a self contained story, its something different next week related to X Factor type shows.

That was the biggest problem to my mind.... I hear a lot of blokes have trouble getting it up in front of a camera with regular porn; the chances of him doing do so, under that pressure, .... with a pig?!! No chance. Sorry, Princess, happens to the best of us wink
Didn't they give him a little blue tablet beforehand?
Yup| As he walked into the studio was handed the pill and a cup of water.
Unfortunatly, even Viagra doesn't work without sexual stimulation. It only helps when you want to but can't. [/pharmacist]

I do know the whole thing's a story, mind you wink

Not sure how you can think this was 'amazing' tv - impossible to buy into the narrative in any meaningful way.

Quite clear that it would never happen, so the whole show fails - which can't be said for sci-fi or fantasy where the 'story world' is built so you can buy into the impossible (time travel or super powers).

A PM fking a pig on national tv in current UK society is not plausible.

The only point that was arguably implausible was the demand itself. People have been kidnapped in the past, and will be kidnapped again in the future. If that was the condition for release, can you see the PM not doing it? Putting his own dignity before someone else's life? Its morally completely unjustifiable.

I dunno, my sense of duty would be hard tested by what a giggle it would be to keep quiet until he was finished. hehe

At least it looked like the poor animal got a decent meal first...
