She certainly is a cut above the rest when it comes to acting. However I do think that slightly rough / wooden acting that seeps through sometimes adds to the raw appeal of This is England.

Great slow burning start again.

...Just wish we got to see more of Kel - I think shes stunning!

Quality start. Loved the karaoke laugh

Perhaps I missed it but where's Meggy?

I just love the way it's done. One minute it's the depths of despair the next it's like a farce. Very clever.

My missus just doesn't get it at all!

Maybe he's dead, he did have a heart attack in 86.

Just me that didn't enjoy it then. smile

I loved the movie and "86", but this first show isn't impressing. Says a lot that I only watched it this morning and have already forgotten the ending that people are referring to as creepy!.

I will be watching the others though.

Here is a little fact that suprised me:

Combo (stephen graham) is married to Trudy (Hanna Walters) in real life - shes the large lady that was doing the Karaoke last night and was also the object of Gadget's desire in T.I.E 86.

That was brilliant.

Some fantastic acting. The Lol/midwife scene and prison visit were top draw.

I want a ford scorpio now.

Agreed - I rarely have a great attention span but was transfixed by most of it - advert breaks were a right interference!

I've found this series hasn't drawn me in as much. Possibly because they're all separated a bit. I know that's the intention with Lol. But I still expect a decent finale tomorrow night.

I've watched the majority of Meadows work mainly due to him being local. That local that a scene from A room for Romeo Brass was filmed at my school. I was in there at the time but think I dodged the camera. From a lot of his films I always notice that there are some actors that aren't so good and others a clear cut above the rest. Dead mans shoes for example. Considine and Kebbell were outstanding. All this is far from a professional opinion though.

Still no sign of Meggy, I fear too many pies killed him.
