Didn't see the car but MkII Carltons were made from 1986 - 1994 and F Reg covered 1 August 1988 through to 31 July 1989. This is England 88 is set in December 1988.

Anybody else have weird issues with the audio, music and back ground noise there but vocal almost silent?
Recorded on Freeview HD via Humax. Through digital out only comes through the right speaker, vocals are fine.
Checked other recordings and they are fine as is live TV.

Andrew Shim who plays Milky is a bit of a petrolhead and used to post under Shimy Type R on Scoobynet a fair bit.

Yes - very quiet - then booming loud adverts!

It sounded well-mastered on my setup (nothing special audio-wise - Freeview SD through a Panny plasma's speakers) - it was 'quiet' in general but loads of dynamic range adding to the drama.... Adverts were annoyingly loud as a result though!

One thing that really did bring back the 80's in full effect was that horrible, horrible shopping center type place where they were all sat.. looked like a cafe that stayed open late.

Me too, I thought it was quite so got up to stick me ear next to the speakers. At one point all the audio was coming out of just the right front speaker?? Then it was OK again after the adverts.

Also a Humax Fessat HD into my av receiver.

hehe
My thoughts were that it's probably still a real in use public location with the only differences over 20 odd years being some licks of paint and smoking abundant to smoking banned.

I had thought there was no way it was all going to get wrapped up but I've now found out there will be another series set in 1990

I can kind of see where it's all going now

Thought there would be more talk about this. I gave up and used subtitles, which some what degraded my enjoyment.
Hope they fix it for tonight.

On the plus side glad there is nothing wrong with my setup.

Glad to hear that though kind of expected that to be the case as there are far too many things to be resolved in one hour tonight smile

Wondering if Lol will banish her demons by 'fessing up to what really happened and swapping places with Combo behind bars frown

It is Castle Market and I doubt if it's even been painted in that time! Some photos of the rest of it here http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/sheffield/hi/people_an...

Feels like This is England '88 is more of a set up for '90 which Channel4 have now green-lit.

Yer I know its a bit of a long shot! But you've got to admit - Mr Meadows has got to go some to top how the last series ended!...

...either that or the ghost of Meggy beats the crap out of Lol's Dad.

THE moment for me last night was the most simple scene, LOl walking up the road with that haunting piano from the Smiths playing just seemed to sum up all the dispair hanging over her.

Briliant, just brilliant.

ISTR this was the plan when both titles were being talked of a few months ago - loving this series in it's own right though - probably helps that it's moved towards the territory of my teenage years!
