There was no word on Meggy though was there?
Wiki:The character Meggy does not appear in This is England '88. Producer Mark Herbert tweeted that this was because the character apparently died taking a dump off-screen in 1987. This is not to be confused with when he had a heart attack on the toilet in the first episode of This is England '86
Brilliant series.
A lot better than '86. The slow mo stuff was more effective. The HBO copycat was much more effective. The first episode felt like it was teasing the audience whereas in '86 felt like the production was struggling to make the first episode last long enough.
Just can't help wishing to see Woody & Lol get back together again.

There's a grating juxtaposition between the desperation portrayed by the lass acting Lol and the sitcom dad character offering out olives. It don't work right.
It's a Shane Meadows signature. One minute its good craic then the next something bad/grim happens.entropy said:
