Sorry but "It's a wonderful life" is the perfect christmas movie.

(And if yer one of those saddos that can't deal with a film over 15 years old there's even a nasty colourised version of it too)

I can't believe "A Muppet Christmas Carol" hasn't been mentioned! Plus another vote for "It's a wonderful Life". And if you want to see the movie in 2mins http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOhxEyPSEoY - this is how I first saw it!

A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart and Richard E. Grant is a favourite of mine. Also, Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

But I have to agree Die hard is pretty hard to beat.

Has to be Die Hard, with Scrooged, Nightmare Before Christmas and the Muppets Christmas Carol that also have to be watched at Christmas.

After years of missing it I finally got round to sitting down to watch It's A Wonderful Life last year.. and what a huge dissappointment, it was absolute crap! No wonder it bombed when it was released at the cinema!!

But as most people have said, almost every film based on A Christmas Carol is a winner!

I prefer the old Alistair Sim version of A Christmas Carol, although the recent Patrick Stewart version is not bad, as is the Muppets version (surprisingly). I always seem to watch Where Eagles Dare at Christmas for some reason.
