Oh and love the 355 chase!!!
I need a 355
That chase annoys me. They should've given Bond a DB7 and made it at least semi-believable.Oh and love the 355 chase!!!

Unless you're assuming that a DB5 owned by Bond that is fitted with it's own on-board computer is anyway standard.
Anyway, away with you and your common sense, Goldeneye is awesome!

Has anyone ever been able to explain what a dam is doing at the top of a mountain?

Believable? What's not believable? That a DB5 couldn't keep up with a 355?

Definitely, one of the best 'old' Bond films. But I'm converted to the new ones now, they've made me want to buy the Bond books and work my way through them.Unless you're assuming that a DB5 owned by Bond that is fitted with it's own on-board computer is anyway standard.

Apart from quantum of Solace. Due to the Hollywood writers strike Daniel Craig and director Marc Forster were the ones writing the script to get it finished. They aren't script writers so it didn't work properly as Craig admits on the link below.

Sounds like they should have postponed production.http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/1161009/daniel_cra...
As a Bond film I thought Quantum of Solace was very poor.
It lacked all the classic Bond film ingredients
The plot was poor.
There were no gadgets
There was no memorable theme tune
The car chase was poor.
There was no charismatic villain
There wasn't enough totty.
I only hope the new film reverts to the original recipe

Agree that 007 can't go back to the 70s but QoS could have been a film about anything as it just didn't feel Bondian enough to me. Daniel Craig just pouts, looks angry and duffs people up. I miss the fun of the old films which provided a bit of light relief from the main plot like the union jack parachute from The Spy Who Loved Me, the cello from The Living Daylights or even the ejector seat Aston from Goldfinger. The new films have just been humourless bone crunch-fests and I think another dud like QoS might jeopardise the whole franchise.

I recently watched The Spy Who Loved Me on a flight just to see that intro.~But James, I need you
~So does England.
The trouble with the new ones is that they are trying to ape Bourne. There are so many places they could go with Bond, I posted ideas in the last Bond thread (taken from Empire years ago), but no-one wants to take risks.
