Apart from the obvious ones such as Top Gear and Fifth Gear, are there any TV programmes for petrolheads that you can get on a standard telly with freeview?

This weekend I stumbled across a load of 'Wheeler Dealers' covering various interesting cars. That's the show with that Mockney/Cockney Mike and his trusty mechanic Edd China- where they buy various second hand cars that have some potential classic status and then fix them up with a view to selling them and making some money. They go into some mechnical depth and you can learn alot if you're mechanically inclined. I think they were originally aired or perhaps are still aired on Discovery.

check the schedule, the other day there was a program on the mclaren road car. Then theres various motorsports events that air at various times of the year.
You've also got driving wars, on dave, sometimes you can get american top gear as well. Then if you want you have the many cops with cameras ect type of program which can be a hoot.

I watched the 'How To Build A Supercar' (The McLaren one). It was quite good wasn't it?

Not sure if it's still being repeated but American Hot Rod is quite good, plus the usual Police Camera Action type guff!

Neither do I and I live in the US so it's even harder for me to see them but I managed to find some online.
Nice to see some cars from my youth- I can't relate when folks here talk about growing up with Pontiac Parisiennes, the idiosyncracies of an Oldsmobile 442 and Ford Fairlanes etc!

I liked it yeah, goes to show exactly why supercars cost such money. I like how they had apprentices as well. Plus it seemed they sourced products locally.

If I were rich enough, that program would have been enough to put my name on the waiting list.

I used to like the one where that vet bloke built a car from a kit, and that was it... Very good show.

Anyone watched Overhaulin'. I think it's on discovery turbo. It's a US show where they take someone's p&j without their knowledge with the help of a family member then restore it and make it awesome. Normally these are old muscle cars the owners have had forany years but have fallen into disrepair due to lack of funds.

It can be quite funny at times
