Pity Segal is being a sulky t t again. I like all of those....but a bit like adding Statham (which is great dont get me wrong) its mixing new and old a bit for me! but they should definitely have Goldberg in it a long as he gets to spear everyone! His autobiography is surprisingly interesting..... i thought the Seagal vs Van Damme stuff was just media b ks?? They were saying that 20 years ago!! Im pretty sure some stuff was made up about Lundgren and Van Damme having a fight around the launch of Universal Soldier to try and get ratings too?

I loved the first one, purely because it was a brain out - old school action film.
I hope for more of the same

Well Van Damme's dwindling bank account seems to have motivated him to get over all his reservations of being in the first one it seems.

Pity Segal is being a sulky t t again. Jackie Chan is too irreverent (never takes anything seriously), Dwayne Johnson only seems to like doing kids films. Unsure about Karl Weathers, and Jesse Ventura would only be interested if they could bring in some conspiracy element. But Kurt Russell in Snake mode, Danny Trejo (with knives, lots of knives!) and Bill Goldberg would be pretty useful. In fact pretty damn awesome.

I was just googling who that is and found some of his quotes : [of on-set competition between actors] I've watched so many of those kinds of things turn bad, and the last thing you want to do is compete with somebody, 'cause he might be a sore loser. [on being promoted from a $50/day extra to a $350/day boxing coach] How bad do you want this kid beat up? [after being told an actor he was supposed to hit might hit back] For $350 a day, give him a bat. I used to get beat up for free. Juvenile hall, youth authority . . . I was in a lot of trouble. I grew up like the characters I've been playing. But would I do things differently? I honestly believe that circumstances create destiny, almost. There weren't too many ways I could have done things. The only things that were available to me were either be a laborer or be a drug dealer. So I became an armed robber. It was a lot simpler. I'll be watching TV and all of a sudden I'll think, "Hey, I'm in this!" A lot of times I don't even know the names of [the movies]. I just show up. From 1985, when I first started, to 1990, I did a s tload of B-movies about prisons. They would always say, "Get that Mexican guy with the big tattoo". I'd show up and I'd have one line, like, "Kill 'em all!" or something. I'd have to say my favorite film would be Heat (1995) and it's got me out of many tickets. It was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. I'd been in Soledad, San Quentin, Folsom, Vacaville, Susanville, Sierra--and here's a guy asking, "Can you act like a convict?" I remember I said. "I'll give it a shot".

Oh, sweet joy.
I'm a huge advocate of Statham and almost all of his works; our Little Italy Theatre Group Mime è Denaro only recently concluded a two month stint at the local East African Drop In Centre, during which time we performed a medley of Dickens, the highlight of which was the sequence in which whilst effortlessly blending the character of Mr. George from Bleak House with Merdle from Little Dorrit, I skilfully beat the living crap out of the swindling fiscal alchemist with series of elegantly delivered karate blows. An allegorical delivery of justice which was devoured by the enthusiastic audience.
The ability to refine the all action meathead in the rich afterglow of the Sly/Arnie axis, dutifully reprised for a while by Segal whilst conjuring a new grimace during baddie dispatchment is a talent which flies completely over the heads of the average spectator, seduced by mobbish violence when in fact, pathos is all around.

One more character that must be considered imo is Brian Mills from the film Taken played by Liam Neeson, a film that crept out in 2008, and when viewed took you back to the very best of the 80s action films, it's a taughtly scripted 93 minutes long only, with a "Hard man" that is totally believable, and if you haven't seen it, do so! its brilliant. And as with all the great action movies the hero makes a speech that you'll never forget... I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. The man himself...
