Cox is a fully paid up member of the climatecrap gravy train so they are all in good company, you wouldn't be seeing Cox on TV if he wasn't.

Funny how times change. Back in the 80's the Christmas Lectures on BBC were far more challenging and 'deep' than this over-simplified program. Now the Christmas Lectures are so boring and dumbed down they wouldn't challenge an amoeba.
That wasn't one of the christmas lectures.http://www.rigb.org/contentControl?action=displayC...
Enjoyed that a lot. Cox sometimes gets slated for his style, but if it gets people interested in science, I don't really see the issue? His enthusiasm for the subject is obvious, he doesn't take himself too seriously (regularly makes jokes at his own expense on Infinite Monkey Cage) and most importantly doesn't come across as self important, which is something Dawkins is guilty of. Diving into popular physics and cosmology books has definitely helped sharpen my reasoning and problem solving at work, and were I not knee deep in professional studies, I'd love to follow up on the Fisher-Price "My First Cosmology Qualification" OU course I did a few years back, as it fascinates me. It's nice to have decent, non-patronising science programmes on TV after years of dumbing things down. If that means more of Cox whistfully staring into the middle distance, I have no issue with it.

I think possibly nostalgia is in the way of your views though.

Can't find anywhere with Uncaged Monkeys tickets available, anyone know where to look (2012)?
Not out yet, but please book to see it. I was lucky enough see both tours this year and thought they were superb. Also there is this http://www.thebloomsbury.com/event/run/1604 which has had great speakers and comedians in the past. Sold out, however Robin does tweet to resell tickets if people can't make it. crofty1984 said:
