ok i'm not going to look but I thought ep 11 was a bit muddled but it was a great reveal in the final shot...
very interesting and clearly what Lockhart was referring to in his telecon with Carrie.
I thought it lost momentum tbh - really not sure why they introduce a completely new charachter so late in the series and the father things as well - bit muddled. it was a clear pull on Carrie to get home sooner including teh baby scene but it took you out of the plot of the previous few eps completely...
the final EP better be a snorter otherwise file under must try harder....I was hal;f expecting dolph to pop up at any time as it had a kinda cheap feeling to it
I hadn't actually connected the Lockhart call to the end twist until the wife watched it and I picked up during that call that there were games being played....very interesting and clearly what Lockhart was referring to in his telecon with Carrie.

Not long to go now - time seems to fly passed over Chrimbo
Not surprised tbh. Typical US TV really, why have a good series when you can milk another one out of it.
That's why I preferred The Honourable a Woman this year Brit TV at its best and personally think it knocked Homeland into a cocked hat for this years best spy/espionage series.....

Maybe they got a stand in producer or maybe it was done by a committee , poor episode IMHO.
I just read it was scripted by exec producer Meredith Stiehm. ste.The US critics wrote this: (they were too kind)
Critical response[edit]
The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 100% approval rating from critics based on 12 reviews. The website's consensus reads, "Subverting expectations, "Long Time Coming" makes for a smart, sharp, and satisfyingly subdued finale for an excellent season of Homeland."[1]
Cory Barker of TV.com said the finale "offered a really strong mix of somber reflection and intrigue for the future", adding that Meredith Stiehm's script was "particularly well-constructed".[2]
Joshua Alston of The A.V. Club gave a "B-" grade, saying that the episode had problems with its pacing, while also observing there was "a genuine thoughtfulness lent to this episode".[3]
IGN's Scott Collura rated the episode a 9.0 out of 10, and wrote "Season 4 ended on a quiet, reflective cliffhanger, a nice change of pace for the series".[4]
I really enjoyed the final episode.
I like the way that actions have consequences. In far too many films/TV shows actions have no consequences on future events – everything seems to happen in isolation. Life's not like that.
Carrie's father's death had consequences in grief, reconciliation and emotional impact. Her failure to protect the US personnel in the embassy have made her more unsure, less confident, of her judgement.
Quinn's actions have tipped Carrie off kilter again, Lockhart was contrite, and Dar Adal's shenanigan's have got him a leader of the CIA he can manipulate to his advantage (though to what end is unknown)
If you want gun fights and exploding buildings that people just walk away from with a witty quip and a stained vest, then this isn't the show you are looking for.

I agree. It's what makes the show one of the best on the box at the moment for me. Characters develop; Lockhart, Quinn et al. It's not black and white and ideas are merged, smudged and discussed.I like the way that actions have consequences.
