Seemingly Saul only started sleeping with her after the 'hack' as she would have been in Germany and him in the US before this. There was nothing to suggest there was anything going on between them until the scene with them in the same bed and at one point he was (seemingly) going to get her sent back to the US.
You're probably right but they do seem to have fallen for it a little too easily. We'll see what happens.

When Alison was trying to convince Dar to send Saul home instead of her she mentioned that Saul was Europe Chief (or something like that) so there is a possibility that he's been in and out of Germany enough in the recent past to keep some kind of relationship going with her.

Speculating even further, the initial hack might have been engineered by Saul and Dar as a way of getting Saul into Berlin on a full-time basis to address the Station Chief's Russian mischief.

Alison thinks Carrie is dead and Saul knows better. I wonder when that little snippet will rear its head between them?

A sign that Carrie and Saul had previously agreed on when they worked together I assumed.

Has anyone watched the original Israeli series this is based on?

I have. I watched the first series. It was OK. I actually preferred Homeland.

To be fair, as much as I've still enjoyed the show for the most part, series one was a cut above. I think I've only felt as tense watching Breaking Bad.

Who reckons Saul's boss isn't really falling for the station chief's crap?
The thought did cross my mind, and that maybe he and Saul could be playing her to find out who she's working for.

Anyhow, now Saul has met up with Carrie surely he'll work/find out she's in bed with the Russians.

Am confused...

...the station chief is having an affair with Saul, whilst receiving instructions from the Russians, and Saul's boss Dar is falling for the deception? Meanwhile the same station chief has put our heroine's name on Quinn's hitlist. And a Russian contractor is hit trying to hit the hitman when he collects his hitlist.
Pretty much, although can someone confirm what exactly Dar Adal role is? Is he actually Sauls boss?

I was wondering this too.
Saul is CIA head? So his boss must be a minister?

Saul was 'passed over' for the Head of CIA! It has been mentioned I am sure a couple of times.... Adal was always portrayed as the dark, shadowy chap behind the scenes who was undoubtedly 'dirty' despite going back some 30+ years with Saul.

The implication seems to be that Adal got the top job after all as Alison tried to go over Saul and get him moved via Adal rather than her be moved?

Saul is CIA European chief. Dar is CIA director. The next episode may reveal a clue as to something in their history together.

I have always taken Dar Adal as a shady character who deals with special ops, things that are not exactly above board etc, didn't think he was ever up for the Head of the CIA

Dar Adal got the top job after Lockhart messed up the Embassy situation in a previous series (I think). Then Saul got brought back in from the private sector and now he is the European Chief. Maybe as recompense for his unfortunate stay with Hiqqani and friends.

But it's sometimes easy to miss all this: they never state them explicitly. Just small references and hints in general conversation mean if the baby is crying or you've gone to make a cup of team, you'll probably miss it.

This makes sense as Saul was private after the whole Lockhart issues (and then turned out to not be as big a prick as we had been shown from memory??)

I was sure Adal was very black ops etc rather than mainstream but he does now appear to be chief.

He certainly was in the earlier seasons but seems to have moved up the ladder through various shady/smart manoeuvres.

Just looked at the wiki. Saul was Director (acting I think) before Lockheart took over, then he got stcanned and went private, which I had forgotten. He was brought back by the new boss, former black ops master, Dar Adal.

Maybe I'm alone in hoping someone will reveal Dar's real name is Dar S. Sahlam.

Saul will become R. Saul Prodder.

And Carrie will marry Mr. Onlaughing.

Just remains for Brodie's mordant daughter to pop back in as CIA Director.

Wow, i cant believe that Saul blew off Carrie like that but he did do the right thing in the end, however, i think he is starting to take over from her with all the sneaking about.

It will also be interesting to see how they deal with the Dar Vs Saul problem, as he really does have it in for him.

As for Quinn, well i'm a bit confused why he was being helped by a member of the 'other side'?
