At least with anpr these sort of people are being picked up , hopefully.
Just cannot help thinking there was more to this than meets the eye. Did they search the car ? The passenger looked totally off his face

Can we please stop fining people "pocket money" and start passing on the true cost of the policing they have encured.

i.e, not £80 for wasting 4 hrs of two coppers time with a traffic car, but at least £800 and probably £1600, which is the true "cost" to us tax payers !!!
Nail on head...

There are 1.5 million activations/day through that area of m/way. You aren't ever going to get them all.

Let me see, 3 lanes each way, vehicles 2 seconds apart for 24 hours, there can't be 1.5 million separate vehicles activating the ANPR.

Do not really want to know how it all works but surely the software might realise that car x is pinging the anpr and where it is going ? It could then be put on a database that covers higher risk cars. Does that even make sense ? smile

I wonder if it will follow the usual pattern of chavvy scum getting nabbed, then either given 10 minutes community service stamping library books or let off with stern words.

I've seen people get a harder time on PH.

"Not only has the van's tank run dry, but the driver's bladder has too".

One of Jamie Theakston's greatest ever pieces of narration.
