Just a heads up that Sky Atlantic have started showing this excellent series. First episode went out last night but I see it's popped up on Anytime today for those who missed it. Can't recommend it enough, even if you have no interest whatsoever in American Football.

Very much echo that - the central relationship is one of the truest ever portrayed - I believe they are intending to show all 78 episodes in sequence which is no less than it deserves - magnificent TV

I like HBO, and have sky plussed this on that reason.

But it's about handegg. The vast majority of programmes from the USA about handegg assume that everyone else is nuts about it.
I wanna give it a shot but the sport puts me off.

Don't worry, I'm not a gridiron fan at all and still think it's great.. It's more about the characters and small town USA. There's some gorgeous eye candy in it too (albeit barely legal, although the actresses are older than the characters they play!)

I 4th this, had no interest in American football but absolutely adored this show. One of my favourite ever series. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Plus word on the street is they're making another film with a lot of the original cast

Watched the pilot; really enjoyed it. I think it was first shown in ITV2/4 but I never paid any notice.....

It's awesome
I've just watched the first series on DVD and it's brilliant!
The thing I find that's good about it is that I actually identify with the characters, something most US dramas don't manage to do.
Not sure where it's up to on Sky Atlantic, but the episode before the penultimate one is probably the best of the bunch, and well worth waiting for.

watched the pilot last night and it was good. Reminded me of varsity blues a bit though. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0139699/

Watched ep2 last night; it’s really well made isn’t it? But not over produced like other typical US TV series.

The drama has a lot of depth, and I like it that at the end of ep2 they didn’t show us the game, just the kick off. It world have been repetitive otherwise.

Excellent.

Enjoying it so far as some pretty easy watching without being too 'dumbed down'.

Another vote for this. Top rate stuff.

I have a passing understanding of Football due to Ch4 coverage over a decade ago and a good tactical game I had on my Amiga smile

I got into this series because I'd only recently seen Any Given Sunday which was absolutely stunning (and again, doesn't need that much of an understanding).

Still following it on Sky Atlantic, still excellent. Am I the only one watching?
