What about How I Won the War?biggrin

I have read about Time Crimes (Los Cronocrímenes) on here before, that is one I wish to watch.

Guillermo del Toro films are good. I really like Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone.

I have watched the Naked Lunch at the cinema but it just bored me.

Is that the Spanish Civil War one? Think I watched it and it didn't really do much for me. frown

Loved Naked Lunch, Peter Weller is just great in it, although I haven't seen it in years, so not sure if it would stand the test of time.

Try the Zappa film, 200 Motels.

I found it totally unwatchable and unfunny, whilst my American hippie mate was falling about laughing. confused

The acid was great, it's just that the film was crap smile

I nearly had heart failure watching Requiem for a Dream, it's an intense watch right up to the finale, an amazing film!

A Scanner darkly is one of my favourites as I love Phillip K. Dicks writing but I haven't even mentioned Linklaters other trippy film, Waking Life. Done in a similar way to A Scanner Darkly and if you can stand long, unbroken monologues then it is definitely worth a watch and is all about dreams, it has a brilliant soundtrack as well!

A proper mind fk though is a film called Primer, it's about time travel but not in the classic sense, much stranger than that.
Best represented in timeline format.

For wierdness, try Dogtooth or The Bothersome Man.

hehe That pretty much sums it up, there is a forum for the film as well, people are still talking and trying to make sense of it 8 years after its release!!

Don't go there until you've seen it at least twice though.

Southland Tales, Richard Kelly's second film after Donnie Darko. If only to see Justin Timberlake lip syncing to The Killers - All These Things That I've Done.

'Santa Sangre' by Axel Jodorowsky is pretty damn weird.

If anyone has heard of Steve Balderson, he did a film called 'Firecracker' a few years back. Very good but the colours are over-emphasised for certain characters, giving them a real 'larger than life' look. Others are filmed in black and white. The reason I got is was Mike Paton from Faith No More (one of my favourite bands) is one of the leads.

Both films involve circus performers.

Brazil is the top of the list for me,

I think that being John Malcovich (not sure on spelling)
should be on the list too

The Fall - visually one of the best films I've ever seen. The story is pretty damn good too. It's dreamlike in that it's a stuntman telling stories to a 6 yr old and it's her imagination bringing it to life.
