I think the trouble is, GoT started slow, and there is plenty of space for people to build. CoK hits the ground sprinting and a lot happens from the off. The pace has got to be a lot faster.
But it doesn't feel faster, it feels more like they are introducing more story threads but compressing everything in order to fit it all in. It's a bit like reading a book but skipping every other page. Not sure how else they could do it though, but I'm worried that it will get too confusing for those that haven't read the books which could hit the ratings/viewing figures which is something noone wants.kingstondc5 said:
I take it youve not read the books or understood the reason why Ned (and the Hand before) was killed, in relation to the incest part and the control for power?
No I've not read the books, a good adaptation shouldn't require me reading the books, as to Ned, I thought he was killed because his son Bran (played by my friend's stepson, it's why I watch to able to chat to him about it) caught Lena Headey being back scuttled by her (the Queen's) brother, and he or she threw him out of the window, and Ned got off'd cos he found out the King's were not the King's, she, the Queen, was intent on offing or holding hostage one or other of his other children, until she could off Bran and her guilty secret would not get out, and that pantomine Joffrey (obviously poster boy for the perils of incest, he's so mad and bad, and totally unbelievable - for evil incarnate to rule, without the fear of his fighting ability, he'd have been off'd already, there must be some (however twisted) logic to his actions, to allow those that could to protect him, although I wish someone would along with the most annoying spoilt brat Santa Stark) was indeed not the son of the King Robert Berathien, and the throne would pass to... now I get confused Stannis Berathien, or maybe the Gayer? But feel free to help me out.
(Pardon the spelling)

Joffrey's just a spoiled brat, that's all. He finds himself in a position of power and he abuses it. There's no deep thought behind his actions.
And Marg's tits...phwoar.
Brienne is spot on, imo. Big, burly, plain, out of place.
Can't be much fun being the actress. And Marg's tits...phwoar.

Must be weird seeing people you know on TV. My mum was late in joining the GoT scene and called me to let me know that Magister Illyrio is the father of one of her pupils and that it was very strange being sat opposite him discussing his child's academic progress when she'd been watching him broker a marriage with a Dothraki horselord a few nights before...
