I'm assuming they're dropping in the continuity errors deliberately? First we had Rimmer taking his exams nine times, when it's at least twelve, now we have his parents belonging to the "Church of Judas" when we all know they were Seventh Day Hoppists! Faith, Hop and Charity and all that.

Loved the Last Supper gag, but was probably the weakest of the three for me, as was all rather disjointed. Wondering if the Cat talking about "going back to last Thursday" was a nod to the show being aired on a Thursday?

Definitely not Norman, as he's said there's no way he'd do it after they messed him about with the last one ( asked him to keep his diary free for it then never contacted him )
having either back would be great. I didn't like that Pree (despite it being 1 ep). WHy was she a brunette if rimmer wanted a blonde?

The one thing that feels weird for me is the fact that they all now have flat screens with higher resolution displays/graphics.

Glad about him not being Jesus-Jesus in the end, made it gel together a bit better. Though whenhe goes back it was like watching a st episode of Dr Who for 5 minutees. The "thouest" stuff was getting on my tits too.

New episode last night! Surprised no ones commented on it before now.

Wasn't really feeling the vibe of it. A few laughs but a mediocre episode in my opinion. Maybe I need to watch it again. Hmm.

I've been disappointed from the off, unfortunately.

Me and a friend were both really looking forward to it, but I have gone back to watching the old stuff now! I'll still be watching them, since you just have to, but they are disappointing.

Quarantine episode after it too, one of THE best episodes ever!

What do you think Mr Flibble?

Rimmer: If there's one thing I can't stand, it's crazy people.
Lister: OK. We've passed the test now, Rimmer. You can let us out.
Rimmer: I can't let you out.
Lister: Why not?
Rimmer: Because the king of the potato people won't let me. I begged him. I went down on my knees and wept. He wants to keep you here... keep you here for ten years.
The Cat: Can we see him?
Rimmer: See who?
The Cat: The king.
Rimmer: Do you have a magic carpet?
Lister: Yeah. A little three-seater.

Rimmer: You don't think there's anything amiss? I'm sitting here wearing a red and white checked gingham dress... and army boots... and you think there's nothing amiss?

I forgot it was on at 9. I started watching Hatfields & McCoys on C5 and wish I hadn't now so caught the 11:40 Red Dwarf repeat, wish I hadn't now.

That's the weird thing - I was watching it last night, quite enjoyed it too, but just now I couldn't for the life of me remember a thing about it!

Now that my marbles are mostly back in my head, I don't think it was that bad really (OK, so Dave sticking "Quarantine" on straight afterwards does highlight the gulf in quality between the old and the new). I'm still liking X so far on the whole - certainly enough to keep me coming back to watch the next week's episode.

Edit: Actually fk it, I'm going to go all out and say I actually really enjoyed last night's one - just reading through some of the lines they used and it's poss one of my favourites. Screw you hippies tongue out

Lots of rule number quoting by Rimmer but never one incorrectly numbered Space Corps directive to be corrected by Kryten, missed opportunity.

Trash eating things looking like Gelfs, why not instead of creating a new race (to Lister and Kryten) that Rimmer seemed to know all about when they could have just played cards with some Gelfs, but then that would be too similar to the old episode Emohawk.

Last night just seemed like a collection of quick cheap gags untidily knotted together to form a plot.

I swear the DAVE announcer called the quarantine episode Holoship aswell!

Probably imagined it.

I did like a few bits of the episode but totally agree, a forgettable episode!

I liked last night's episode, but in the past I've had to fill in an accident report form for a paper cut.
