A superb idea sir with just 2 minor drawbacks.
1. We don't have any jet powered rocket pants
and
2. There's no such thing as jet powered rocket pants outside the fictional TV series Robbie Rocketpants
I preferred the first iteration of that (as with several gags in those two series, they milked them to death)

"An excellent plan, sir, with just 2 minor drawbacks
1. We don't have any lasers
2. We don't have any lasers

Now, technically, I realise that's only one, but it's such a big one, I feel it was worth mentioning twice"

(from memory, so probably a bit off)

Definitly wend down hill when Konchanski joined (season 7?)
This. A thousand times this. She is absolutely awful, and a terrible addition to the cast. I'd have rather they left Rimmer's space empty.
When the **new** Kochanski joined.
Kryten also turned into a complete whiny bh. Having two main characters you find annoying really isn't a good sign

Very good show up until they lost Red Dwarf, and the plot. Dropped to sub par rubbish when they went stopped the live recordings.
I believe they literally lost the Dwarf, I remember reading that the model was broken, hence when it reappeared it was CGId

It's a shame the bloke who plays the male Holly took the huff, he is far better than the female one IMO.

I saw Norman Lovett doing standup a few years after he left the show. I don't think there was any acting needed to play to Holly, that character is just him. I thought Hatty Hayridge was just as good though.

He didn't, He had other commitments for the 3rd series so was recast by Hatty.

He returned in 8.

Yep, Robert Llewellyn has been tweeting about it for months. Literally on an hourly basis.

He's promised that it's going to be a return to form, he and the others all admit the Dave specials were rubbish.

So he's admitted the last BBC series was rubbish and now the Dave series were rubbish. Doesn't really bode well for the next shows.

Him and Danny John Jules both tweeted after reading the scripts for the first time saying it was back to being at it's best. Guess we'll have to wait and see though. I'm looking forward to it.

Nice to see its the original members rather than another Cat or whatever. But minus points for only six episodes.
