We have been watching both the older shows and the new series, very well written and worth watching.

One of my favourite shows, cannot get enough of it, the old episodes are the best, Charlie sheen at his best, always worth watching on Comedy Central as they like to rerun the old episodes daily.
ThanksI've got a ton of them on series link Jay Old and New, Charlie sheen is brilliant, his replacement is good too.
Great casting, including the guests.
For me Charlie Sheen leaving/being fired was the death of this show, I used to enjoy it especially since Jake got his own jokes and wasn't just there to be cute for the camera. Since Kutcher came along it's nowhere near as funny and doesn't really make sense anymore, why is Alan living in his dead brothers house with a complete stranger who owns it?
The last season of the Sheen era had a good ensemble of regular characters on top of the 2.5 main players, all adding to the show (Rose, Berta, Mrs Harper, Judith, Herb, Chelsea).
With Sheen's exit there was, of course, no place for Rose and Chelsea to continue, Berta and Evelyn have had their screen time reduced to next to nothing, as have Herb and Judith (and let's face it, Ryan Styles is the best actor on the show).
The addition of Big Suze and Her-off-of-Melrose-Place is no consolation and the casting of Herb's Sister as Walden's ex-wife is perhaps the daftest decision to date.
I still have it on Series Link though.

There are some funny moments with Ashton but on the whole it doesn't gel as well as it did with Charlie. Strikes me as the network trying to say "FU Charlie we don't need you". I'm sure any other circumstances they'd cancel the show and do a spin off or a new show with new characters.

Oh I remember that episode fondly....Edited by y2blade on Wednesday 11th April 19:06
Great show, I went through every episode a while ago and am watching the new ones as they air in the states. A lot of people complain about Ashton Kutcher, but I don't think he's too bad!

We tried it with Kutcher but he killed it stone dead and we've never watched it since.
We watch Rules of Engagement now - far better written.
Same situation as me that is, iv watched all the old episodes, watched about 10 new ones with Ashton and just don't watch it anymore. We tried it with Kutcher but he killed it stone dead and we've never watched it since.

Rules of Engagement on the other hand is brilliant - Russell

Same here, can still sit and watch Sheen era re-runs but the new ones are poor IMO. I don't mind Kutcher but I think they've just run out of ideas and can't make as funny a show based around Waldron as they could around Charlie. We tried it with Kutcher but he killed it stone dead and we've never watched it since.

I always point out to my son that Charlie is the man I aspired to be but unfortunately I turned out more like Alan. Worst part is he agrees!!
With sheens input the show was truly funny, without him its ruined. Now it seems like forced humour and the stories are weak. It doesnt help that jake has grown up, isnt cute anymore and turns out he is a pretty poor actor.
However I still watch from time to time in the hope that it improves

I'm inclined to agree Jay, have watched a LOT of the older episodes now (along with the New ones) thanks to Sky+ series link...it seems to be shown in blocks pretty much everyday We prefer the old ones with Charlie Sheene, such a well written show..very enjoyable.
