No wonder people download films illegally.

maybe they might change the business model.
The business model has already changed. With product placement, production companies can charge for items appearing within the film. You would have to be naive to think that torrent download figures are not quoted when touting for money for new films.
You know what the problem is?

Don't go to those massive multiplexes. My local "art-house" cinema puts on all the films I actually want to see, doesn't have a problem with feral youth, and will sell you a reasonably priced beer, wine, or tea to take into the screen with you. Exceptionally civilised. tamore said:

I found this the last time I went to see a film. I couldn't find the film I wanted to see (Senna) at any of the big cinemas near me but managed to find it showing at somewhere I hadn't heard of before. It turned out to be one of these cinemas with just a couple of screens with only 30 or so seats in each. The experience was so much better than going to my local Odeon.OP said:

I take my son to the cinema every so often. £10 for both of us to get in, relatively well-behaved audiences thus far, avoid getting ripped off at the popcorn counter by nipping into the co-op next door beforehand, reasonably comfy seat to have a snooze in during Pixar's latest meisterwerk.
So far, I have not been assaulted, verbally abused or otherwise inconvenienced.

As has been said, NEVER, EVER go on a Wednesday or a Friday/Saturday night showing before 10pm! I usually end up going on a sunday night when it's often myself and about a dozen others and everything is quiet. Went to the cinema last year more times then i think I'd been in the last 5 years.
