...this is the most over-hyped film of recent times?

"Game Changing..."

"Clever"

"Post-Modern"

"...astonishing meta-feat, capable of being funny, strange, and scary -- frequently all at the same time."

"You won't see the end coming."

"You'll want to see it twice"

I saw it with others and frankly it was a 6/10 at best. They say its not a 'Slasher' film but really, it is, with pseudo-intellectual advertising trying to draw in the crowds that wouldn't normally go to see a film like this - and it worked.

It's Evil Dead meets The Truman Show - just not as good as that mash-up sounds like it should be.

Indeed.

I thought it was "ok" and reasonably entertaining. The last third was a bit drawn out and I was desperately waiting for it to end.

I think it might have been better had they not given the "Truman Show" thing away so early in the film. Maybe "1/3 scary cabin, 1/3 ahh that's what it's all about, 1/3 save the world" would have been better.

Forgettable.

It's an awful film, really. HOWEVER. The second half kept the entertained and made me chuckle at its ridiculousness.

I thought that they ran out of ideas half way through and decided on the scattergun approach.
Will appeal to the Friday night crowd as its that kind of film-just don't beliwve the hype and expect too much.
People were walking out midway when I watched it and that was a free showing...

Not seen it yet but horror films seem most succeptible to over-hype, remember the Blair Witch projct, hyped to death but basically a load of pish
