The [REC] films are very good, I have seen the first two and am looking forward to the third one. motorizer said: Insidious is a good modern horror that doesn't resort to gore or mysogyny Did you think so? I thought it was quite good at the start, but it completely lost it about 2/3 of the way through for me. What about Grave Encounters? I have heard good things about that.

If you want fun horror films I'd recommend:- Dead Snow Drag me to Hell Tucker and Dale vs Evil Dog Soldiers Lake Placid
None that scary but entertaining nonetheless.

None that scary but entertaining nonetheless. Not really after 'Horror Comedies' but will look at the Tucker & Dale one (outside of this 'scaring the bird' thing)....had heard of it. Dog Soldiers is great though.

"Horrors" I have enjoyed recently (Loose term here, not quite horror movies but well thought out and have their moments):
Devil The Exorcism of Emily Rose Rite
unpleasant mostly naff, sometimes sick stuff watched and would not recommend but it is up to you:
Irreversible The Human Centipede Hobo with a Shotgun - didn't make it past 45 minutes!

I loved the first [REC], but was really let down by the second. Part of the reason the original was so scary was that you had no idea what caused it, but by explaining it as demonic possession it ruined the suspense

Watched The Grudge last night. It worked; bird was scared and jumped a lot, and hid behind my shoulder. Kept missing things as she had her eyes shut, and I had to rewind and make her watch that part again. Top marks for The Grudge in bird-scaring terms [Rec] is next I think....

Japanese version, or the one with Sarah-Michelle Gellar?
