I thought it was terrible
Laughably bad, preposterous action, and none of the good points from the first film were built on
Having had time to think back on this you are bang on the money, wish i'd read this thread knowing the age limit had been dropped and they changed director before i went.Laughably bad, preposterous action, and none of the good points from the first film were built on

In the Baths scenes, he kills two people just by pushing them against the floor or the wall! Utter tripeJD said:

In the second example...The Dad must get his head pushed onto one of those sharp wall taps that you see in the next seen. 12a cuts ensured that this was less than clear...
I had assumed that was what they were suggestingBut the hunger games effect camerawork and lack of any sound or action to illustrate this left one wondering!
Were we to assume that in the first instance, the guy was being pressed onto the knife that was previously and very obviously dropped?
Dont even get me started on the "Do you see the steam? drop the gun down there" part
Similar to other opinions, nothing special compared to the original with the action dumbed down to meet the 12A rating. A cynical move. Usual fair really - including totally unrealistic car chase (given ability of the driver) and what should have been a wrecked car still running without a scratch on it...etc, etc.
I actually enjoyed it if im honest.
But was left a bit dissapointed it could have been so much more.
I thought the plot was good enough to merit a second movie.
But it fell far short from the first one.
The car chase was rotten Ive driven a Merc ML and fk me I struggled to negotiate mini roundabouts in it. The handling is piss poor yet these seemed to handle like they were on rails.
As people have said she hasnt passed her test but manges to whoore the w124 around tiny streets with no damage to the car even after various smashes. Come on not even a smashed headlight or a bumper.
I could forgive that what I cannot stand is these wky camera angles that were in it. Ive seen it in a few movies recently and they are dire. By the time you have figured out whats happening its on the next shot your mind is working in delay and you dont know who is who. WHY, WHY, WHY.
It totally ruined the fim for me. The best thing about taken was when he set about a guy he floored or killed them with a blink of a eye you dont see it this time it looks like they are bumming each other.
If it had a few clssic lines like the first one, alot more spy/cia skills in it, sorted out the chase and camera angles with a few more brutal killings it would be a winner.
as a follow up 4/10
as a action movie 6/10 one would describe it as fling away fun.

Just back from seeing this movie. A decent movie was lurking, but it never broke through the terrible action sequences and shaky cam. It was probably the worst, most overly done shaky cam that I've seen. I had no idea what was going on until the sequence was finished, and that includes the car chase, where Neeson constantly says 'Go Faster'.
Several other parts were damn annoying for me too, but I would rather just move on from this movie.
5.5/10
