I'm no longer a child so would not generally one for vacuous 'action' films. I wouldn't normally seek them out, but I did happen to see 'Taken' at the cinema and was pleasantly surprised. My wife and I both thought it was good. It is a cliché, but often less is more.
We also had the misfortune of seeing the entirely terrible Quantum of Solace (only because it was a Bond film) around the same time -More is Less?. Needless to say, we won't be watching the next Bond film.

It could have been good if Hollywood could get over making films where good wins and the baddie gets it. An example being Knowing, Hollywood refused to make it because the ending is a bit grim.t.Anyway back on topic. Absolute class.The first 'Taken' just came out of nowhere seemingly without and kind of movie fanfare, I am quite up on my films and I hadn't heard of it.
I got it in DVD when a few friends were round one night and we watched it.
Everyone thought it was absolutely brilliant.
One of the best films I have ever seen and I mean that!

No fanfare Huh? You sure it wasn't up for a Palm D'or at Cannes? Maybe it's too esoteric for that eh? Then perhaps some obscure award from the Sundance Festival?No?

You do realise that a film doesn't HAVE to win any awards to be really quite enjoyable?No?

Do you think that Taken 2 will be bypassed for accolades as well,or just maybe this time a movie in the Taken franchise will get what it deserves?
