I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

To be fair it's a pretty low bar to equal.
Taken is a terrible movie from a number of viewpoints, acting, directing, plot, script ..the bottom of the barrel was truly scraped when they made the first one.
GTFO!Taken is a terrible movie from a number of viewpoints, acting, directing, plot, script ..the bottom of the barrel was truly scraped when they made the first one.
You are the right though. At the end of the day I watch films for enjoyment, I enjoyed it, job done. Perhaps I am a philistine?
Taken didn't need an inside out twisty plot or Phillip Seymour Hoffman, it was a good old formula of 1 good guy takes on many bad guys to get his daughter back, and had my household riveted to the sofa the whole time. Rarely have I seen a film in the last decade where every time Neeson took out a bad guy you almost felt like cheering.
I'm sick and tired of movies that rely on visual tricks, overly complicated silly plots and the opproval of a group of pretentious self important critics the same way that Damien Hirst confuses his audience into thinking his art is brilliant.
It isn't, you made a st film full of pretentious twaddle with an ending so confusing and pointless that I just wasted 2 hours of my life.
Inception - don't get me started on that seeping pustule of a movie.
fk it - just bring back Arnie.

Oh god, please don't feck this up Hollywood.
Yeah the first one isn't perfect - Girls best friend britally murdered, girl all smiles and happiness an 8 hour flight later.
But it was brilliant - no bullst, no pithy Bondesq one-lines, no Borneesq super-solder nonsense, a gritty belivable story and a Hero that shows the signs of the stuff he's had to do.

Sums it up perfectly really. It was low budget but it didn't appear low budget.Yeah the first one isn't perfect - Girls best friend britally murdered, girl all smiles and happiness an 8 hour flight later.

My wife hates films and rarely watches them, when she does she wouldn't pick something like this. I was watching one night and she couldn't help but watch it and at the end said she loved it.
She then also said that if anything like that happened to our either of our daughters I would need to find my inner Brian - makes you feel quite inadaqeuate
