Nope, black - "a thick black comma of hair"

Felix Leiter had " a mop of straw coloured hair" though?

Hair colour is not an issue for me. This guy, or this guy?

I do think Bond should remain male and English.

Any ideas when we get to see another trailer, or even som ehints as to what the actual plot is about.

Worries me when they are so secretive, almost like they are still working out the plot details in post production.

Hopeful that this isn't a stinker like QoS. I'm still unsure that Daniel Craig has much acting ability beyond scowling so this will be the clincher for me.
Remember QoS was effected by the writers strike and the writing was finished off by the director Marc Forster and Daniel Craig himself, both admitted to not being very good writers.
I watched this again the other day, having seen the Skyfall trailer. QoS is among the best of the Bond films, the narrative moves fast, with originality and unexpectedness, some extremely good lines, and Craig grows into the role. He gives the character depth, and he is watchable in the way Sir Alec Guinness was watchable, to see his reactions. Mathieu Amalric positively and subtly exudes menace, there have been few better villains in the series. Gert Frobe as Goldfinger? Robert Shaw in FRWL. Christopher Lee as Scaramanga, maybe, let down by a jokey script? Steven Berkoff. Even Le Chiffre was not as convincing a villain as Greene. Initially, I did not like the car chase, and still don't, but I now think it was a good chase ruined by flashy editing, and I couldn't see the point of sliding around in the quarry. Unlike a fist fight, you have to see what is happening in a car chase. It was the long shots, not the short ones, that made 'Bullitt' work. But then I like looking at Astons and I don't especially like watching them being destroyed. That aside, it was a film of real quality, and if it was affected by the writer's strike, I didn't notice it.

People have different expectations of Bond films, and getting some of those out of the road first would help. The camp humour was a dead end. If you don't take it seriously (odd as that may seem) it just doesn't work. Big sets and big explosions have no innate virtue. What worked in Goldfinger in 1963 and even more so in You Only Live twice in 1966 was breathtaking at the time be cause it was new and different. Now we have seen Gladiator and Lord of the Rings and all the rest, that kind of thing doesn't impress us. Where Bond films fail is when they lapse into self parody. Where they succeed is when they start by identifying their essential values and set about achieving them in the best way they can. QoS did exactly that. It suffered from coming immediately after an absolute firecracker, Casino Royale. Watch it again, and see what you think.

Funnily enough I watch QoS again the other week after seeing the new Skyfall trailer.
When I first saw it I was unconvinced. I think this was partly because Casino Royal was SO good and my expectations for QoS were so high. I've now changed my mind and have to agree with one of the guys here at work. QoS is actually pretty good indeed and i'd have to agree with what you've said above.
I just hope that after the wait, and the teaser trailer that's been realised (which coincidently was released before they finished filming) that the movie is as good as we all expect it to be.

I just saw that too. Looks good but a completely different film to the first trailer. Much more action on show.
