I thought Blackhawk Down was a brilliant effort. The casting was spot-on. I vividly remember seeing the trailer in the cinema and knowing what film it was and who each character was before seeing the film title.

I was gutted when I saw Catch Me If You Can and realised they'd cut out much of his cool scamery from the book...

I have a general rule that if the film is in any way important or highly praised then I'll read the book first. I don't want my head filled with actors faces, scenery etc

Best example I can think of is Kite Runner. AMAZING book, very average film.

Fascinating film. I'm still not sure at all of the final resolution of DiCaprio's character...
