Before I waste £4.99 a month, am I right in thinking that this gives access to the F1 channel live?

Yep - you get it free if you're already a subscriber - so perhaps a friendly chum will share with you their Sky login details - or maybe a google might shed some light on something interesting

It's a nice to have - but the delay is 20-30secs but I wouldn't pay for it.

Plus, you need to have decent wi-fi connection.

Well I have Sky and have Sky ID, but I don't have any of the sports or HD packs. On SkyGo this means that I can't see the sports channels? But for £4.99 a month it would seem I can watch them all?

This is why I am confused and don't want to waste a fiver until I know exactly what I will be able to get.

**Now only £4.99 / €5.49 per month until the end of June including our brand new Sky Sports F1 channel**

Everyone can get Sky Sports on iPhone or iPod touch with the Sky Sports TV app. Non-Sky TV customers can subscribe for £9.99/€10.99 per month and enjoy the best sporting action from Sky on the move.

If you’re a Sky TV customer with Sky Sports 1 & 2 you can watch all 6 Sky Sports channels at no extra cost with the Sky Go App on your iPhone and iPad.

Sky Sports F1 gives you live coverage of the whole Grand Prix season, including all practice and qualifying sessions and every race in the calendar.
I read that as If you have sky sports - no charge, if you have sky but no sports £4.99/month if no sky at all £9.99/month.
Just my reading though.

A tad concerned about the 'until end of June' though... scratchchin

Matt, do you have a Sky+HD box? If you have you should look at adding the HD pack to get the channel, as you get to watch it on the TV, as well as being able watch them on Sky Go. For now anyway, how long after this season you are able to get Sky Sports F1 with just the HD pack is yet to be seen.

To spend £9.99 on an app, it seems more economical to get the HD pack at £10.50, plus this gives you access to the channels you already have in HD if possible.

I agree, and I have weighed up moving to HD, but I think this means I have to be tied into a 12 month contract?

I was hoping with the app I could just use it/cancel it/use it/cancel it, around the summer break, if I am hols, BBC showing a couple of races together.

But I agree, upgrading to SKY HD is an option.

Does anyone know if I do go down the app route, can I throw the video output to the TV via my Apple TV?
