Don annoys me too sometimes.
Not sure if I want him fked up or winning.
He makes so many bad choices and can be such a colossal knob.
totally agree. wish the writers would at least provide an insight into why, other major characters haven't had shady/painful pasts and still function normally.

I love mad men but don't quite know why as I hate soaps. It's a fascinating and well executed show. Pete Campbell never ceases to surprise me.

Indeed. Who'd have predicted him breezing in and championing Don in the latter's current situation.

Lou: Can I help you, Don?
Pete: I asked him to be here.
Lou: (looking like he's licking ps off a nettle) Oh.

(or words to that effect. I'm paraphrasing from memory)

Pete is weird, he is good friends with Don, but I can;t see what their friendship is based on, longterm misogyny?
I hate that Lou! And the other partner with the specs!!
Not keen on Peggy any more either, whiny bh.

Hmmm, how about Peggy and Don start up their own business and leave all the tts behind?

I reckon something like this could happen to finish the show off. Would be a good ending.

Too predictable for Mad Men though. I very much doubt it will end as neatly as that.

I agree, the pendulum is really beginning to swing for Don. Could go either way.

That's a bit harsh. Peggy walked into the meeting believing she had a good pitch, which it was, then just before she presented it Pete brought Don into the meeting thus completing undermining her. I think she had a right to be pissy about it. Adding that she's a woman trying to succeed in a mens world in the 60s etc.

Anyway both Elisabeth Moss and Jon Hamm were fantastic in the scenes together.

I particularly love the scene in the Peggys office where Peggy asked what Don would do if he's struggling with an idea (Im paraphrasing), and Don replied:

'I would abuse the people whose help I need. And then I take a nap.'

Then Peggy just said 'Done' and smiled; both knowing that's exactly what Don used to do to Peggy and now vice versa.

Fantastic episode.

I need to buy the box set because it's been so long since I watched the early seasons I have forgotten most of the important storylines and connections.

If you enjoy reading reviews then I would highly recommend Alan Sepinwall's (google Alan Sepinwall Mad Men then episode name)

The Strategy

I've been reading his reviews on and off for since the early days such as NYPD Blue to recently the Wire, Friday Night Lights, to now Mad Men. His analyses are superb.

If you are on either Amazon Prime or have Sky, then series 1-6 boxsets are included in those (in Sky's case it is via On Demand).

Who is Mad Men actually aimed at? Is it an american couples in their late 60's and early 70's?
Sweaty fat PH males who all think they're Don Draper in their too tight suits. biggrin
I resent that. I neither fat nor sweaty (any more) and my suit fits properly. :-)

I do think I am Don Draper though.

I have the same sunglasses as Don Draper. 3 pairs of them actually.

Therefore I am the Don!

Yes it was extremely good, I now like Don again, also Maggy.
Don't like the red haired bimbo anymore, she's a .

Also, 'mid-season'? Next year? fk off that's another series then! Frankly Megan was getting a bit on my tits too, not surprising she is how she is though, with Don's actions.

Yes Don is back.

This mid-season thing is bks. They did they same I think with Breaking Bad where the last season gets split over two years effectively making two mini series. They did the same with the Blacklist although that only had a couple of months between bits.

It doesn't work and breaks the flow. This season of MM took 4 episodes to get going and then it ends.
