From what I can gather, it's to do with Kitson getting the knock about the Chinese stow aways storyline in season 2 being racist to Kitsons mind. Also heard that for Kitson, the underlying issue was that series one was small scale & tightly worked whereas series two was overblown in the production & Kay's ego accompanied it on the journey.

Safe to say they don't like one another much. IIRC he calls Kitson a bd on the commentary each time he appears.

Then plonks his pint on the coffin.
